Hafenhaus in Emden

We were guests at the Hafenhaus a few weeks ago and loved it. The crab soup and mussels were outstanding. The wine recommendation goes with it. Great!

Very pleasantly surprised. The food was really delicious, the service was also very nice. We will definitely come back.

I had reserved a table on the occasion of my birthday, it was nicely set and decorated ... Great and a nice window seat with a view of the harbor Buffet, the buffet was very varied despite the current situation. All in all very well arranged. I like to come again.

A good week ago I was eating there with my partner. The reservation was unproblematic. The table was already set when we arrived, which we found very pleasant. The starter, main course and then the cocktails were all great. The fish was on point. In terms of price, it was reasonable for the quality. Should we ever be in Emden again, we'll be back.

Food was very good. Unfortunately the service was not that attentive, no question of whether you would like to have a drink or maybe a dessert. Money left behind. Could have been 20 euros more. But very nicely decorated.

Food was amazing! The wait staff was friendly and open! Despite the rain there was no Gemose that we want to sit outside. (The waiter had to go through the rain, we sat under a roof) Good location, facilities and ambience! The only negative thing we could feel: the weather 😃

Service very friendly, Frieda had her drink first. Food was delicious. We only had to be active for the 2nd round of drinks, as nobody came by us.

We were made aware of the restaurant by a sign on the way, on which various dishes were advertised. Since everything was reserved inside, we sat outside. We ordered drinks, a soup as a starter, drinks and two dishes from the board on the way. The waitress told us that the dishes on the table were only for guests who were sitting inside and that we could only choose from a very small "outside menu". Since we hadn't found anything on the other menu, we wanted to cancel the drinks and starters shortly afterwards from another waiter, to whom we explained everything. He asked us what we wanted to eat and that it could certainly be done by choosing the two dishes from the table. Of course we gladly accepted this offer. The soup came before the drinks. As good as the offer from the waiter, who was very courteous, was: we waited a full 1.5 hours for our main course. In the meantime, the hunger had vanished again due to the bridging with drinks and the soup and we wanted to cancel the main course again. Since, according to the waiter, it should only take 2-3 minutes, we waited for the food. The Deichgrafenteller was really good, but most of the pan fish was only lukewarm or even cold. We weren't the only ones complaining to the waiter that evening. The waiter was very accommodating and understanding and one could really feel sorry for, because he couldn't help it. The management of the restaurant should rethink their concept. To set up a 2 class company within a shop, or to lure people with offers that are only available in certain areas, is not the fine English way. It was clear to see that both the kitchen and the waiters were totally overwhelmed. Either more staff should be deployed here or the outdoor area should be closed at busy times. There are countless tables here and without exception all the people here had to wait for what felt like an eternity for their food or just drinks.

Absolutely great service. Delicious meal. And ... a clean bowl with fresh water for our German shepherd Apoll. We have never seen it like this before. Many thanks for everything. The view into and around the harbor basin was also an experience !! :-)

The food and the atmosphere were really very good and beautiful, the selection was also wide. It bothered us and others that the service is very friendly, but sometimes also inattentive, or that they hang around some tables (maybe known people?) For a long time and thus other guests had to wait for you. In a well-frequented house with scarce staff, one should always keep an eye on all visitors .......

We went to eat there after our daughter started school. The ambience was very nice and the food was very tasty, especially the sweet potato fries. The service was also very nice. The only drawback: the waiting time for the food was quite long.

The ambience is great. Had eaten Emder pan fish in mustard sauce. That was also great and comes highly recommended. Everything seemed freshly prepared and homemade. The staff was friendly but seemed a bit uncoordinated and overwhelmed, even though almost nothing was going on. We had to wait a long time for the desserts (much longer than for the main course). The vanilla ice cream was great, the raspberry tiramisu I had expected better. Still it was good but couldn't keep up with the main course class. All in one, but a really great store. Happy to eat there again.

We stayed here a year ago and loved the quality of the food, service and location. Another visit yesterday was almost a disaster. In short: the service (2 young girls) were completely overwhelmed and obviously had NO idea about gastronomy! The tables weren't clean, the main course came without cutlery, which was placed on the table WITHOUT a napkin on request, and 2 mini paper napkins came on request ... The dirty dishes stood on a table next to us almost an hour after the guests had left ... Other guests, already annoyed, asked if they could order slowly .... The time until someone assigned us to our ordered table was a bit long. Because of a big sticky stain on the placemat, I exchanged it first. The time from ordering to soup was 25 minutes. a bit long. The soup was great, but already had a thick skin on top that the question arises how long it took to get from the kitchen to us. Another 30 minutes to the main course was too long. The main course was mediocre and only partly hot, otherwise lukewarm. I've already described the missing cutlery ... Unfortunately, the great impression from the previous year was completely destroyed, so we won't stop here again ....

Nice ambience and very friendly staff. Unfortunately we waited an hour for the food, so only 4 stars. It was busy, but could have gone faster. In terms of taste, however, highly recommended. Here on the picture Emder Matjestopf.

We went to dinner in the Hafenhaus yesterday evening on August 12th. We were greeted in a very friendly manner by a young woman who also provided very good service throughout the evening. We sat down on the jetty and had a nice view of the water. The food was delicious, but the drinks took a little longer. The restaurant was well attended and we'd love to come back.

Very very disappointing restaurant. Schnitzels no taste at all. Mine was pa rtly raw! But oerzonnel reacted good and gave a new plate and apologies. Free coffee, niceHai but also no taste, watery. Nice surroundings at harbourHai but.. never again. Personel is fine, but cannot make up for lousy food.

Oh dear, this is the second time I have been here and this was worse than the first. The staff seem very disinterested in firstly seating me, so I did it myself. I ordered a Diet Coke that had no ice or lemon. I then ordered a salad that after 20 plus minutes did not appear. Fed up I went to pay and was told that it was a 5 euro minimum for a 3 euro drink. The girl server seemed completely disinterested. I travel a lot, but this was at best, some of the worst service I have come across in years.

Beautiful place to eat dinner, nice staff and quick service! Wi be there again soon!
